Family Law Attorney in Plymouth
Lisa graduated from the University of New Mexico with a B.A. in English and Communications. Prior to entering the field of law, Lisa worked in the business sector managing a construction firm and wholesale distribution company. Following her lifelong aspiration to become an attorney, she earned her J.D. from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law.
While at the University of Detroit Mercy, Lisa was a member of the Dean’s List, recipient of the Betty J. Dunn Farwell Memorial Scholarship and received numerous awards for high marks. She served as a class officer and is a member of the Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity.
Lisa’s specialty is family law issues, including divorce. She is a member of the State Bar of Michigan’s Family Law Sector, Oakland County Bar Family Law Commission and I.C.L.E. seminar participant. She is a strong advocate with extensive experience in motion practice, mediation and proficient with application of the Uniform Child Custody Jurisdiction Enforcement Act (UCCJEA).
Lisa also worked on a juvenile justice issue that went to the Michigan Supreme Court. The court asked the firm to brief extra issues that dealt with juvenile offenders’ access to justice and post-conviction remedies. Lisa worked extensively on that brief where oral argument was granted and heard October 2021.
